The Patent Office of the Republic of Latvia (LRPV) in cooperation with the Customs Administration of the State Revenue Service (SRS) and with the support of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) for the seventh time in a row held the annual international seminar “Effective intellectual property protection methods 2023” for customs and other state institutions on November 14 and 15, 2023.
This year, the event was organized in two days: on the first day, an educational seminar for employees of customs and other law enforcement agencies on current affairs related to the effective protection of intellectual property rights, while on the second day, an expert discussion “Trading of fakes – trends and actualities of combating it in Latvia”. A trademark attorney of Agency TRIA ROBIT Bronislavs Baltrumovičs participated in the event to present the audience presentations on the “Chanel”, “Hugo Boss”, “Ray Ban” and “Oakley” (Essilor Luxxotica) trademarks, as well as on the intellectual property of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), their protection and the most common counterfeits, but in the second part of the event he participated in the expert discussion as a representative of the Association of Professional Patent Attorneys of Latvia.
